Yamaha Riding Academy for Children

Canadian Motorcycle Training Services is proud to offer you the Yamaha Riding Academy (YRA) program in association with Yamaha Motor Canada Ltd. The purpose of the Yamaha Riding Academy is to to provide free basic motorcycle-riding instruction to boys and girls of approximately 6–12 years of age; it is offered at select Canadian motorcycles events.

Safety is first. It is imperative that your child learn safe motorcycling techniques from a trained professional. This will ensure their future experiences will be that much more enjoyable.

All YRA courses use either Yamaha TT-R50 or TT-R110, youth off-road motorcycles.

Curriculum

Our Team Blue Level I introductory course is approximately 20 minutes in length, consisting of “first time/beginner rider” basic instruction in a controlled enclosed course area with individual, professional instruction. We will cover the following:

  • Sizing check, fitting for protective gear
  • Orientation of TT-R50 or TT-R110 controls, use and function
  • Balance check with hand and eye co-ordination
  • Walk through of throttle and brake instruction
  • Instructor-aided, Student First ride
  • Monitored Student ride, unaided
